LS 3041 - The Natural Sciences and the Liberal Arts (3) Focused study of the historical background and major methods and tools in natural science disciplines using experiential and inquiry-based learning. Issues and approaches in the natural sciences will be highlighted as they compare with those in the social sciences and humanities. Special attention will be given to how science (processes and contributions) is viewed, understood, and used in contemporary life, including its role in addressing complex and emerging problems and issues, including how society and social processes impact scientific knowledge production.
