MHR 4450 - Family Business and Franchising (3)


Alternative ways to practice entrepreneurship. Focus should be given to key issues within family business and franchising. Personal and interpersonal issues associated with family-owned/managed firms; competitive strengths/weaknesses in family firms; dynamics of family interactions and the business culture; conflict resolution; estate planning; planning for succession. Franchising topics should include history, selection of a franchise, marketing and financial statements.

Prerequisite(s): MHR 3410  or MHR 320.
