EWS 4020 - Contemporary Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies (3) Critical and interdisciplinary analysis of contemporary Chicana/o and Latina/o communities by synthesizing perspectives from the social sciences and humanities. Topics include economic status, education, gender, identity, prisons, immigration, citizenship, law and public policy, communities, religion/spirituality, health, politics, pan-ethnic identities, social justice movements, environmental justice, self-determination, popular culture and media representations. Course fulfills GE synthesis area D4.
