Student focused investigation of the interrelationships between a society's subsistence and economic systems, level of socio-cultural development, and the natural and social environment inhabited. Tools and techniques utilized by particular societies in their exploitation of their surroundings. Course fulfills GE Synthesis D4 or B5.

Prerequisite(s): Junior standing; and Lower division GE requirements in Area A, at least two sub-areas in Area B, and at least two sub-areas in Area D.
