URP 489/489L - Transportation Methods and Analysis (3/1)


This course introduces transportation modeling and travel analysis methods and software. Emphasis is placed on the four-step transportation modeling approach and the fundamentals of travel behavior. Introduction to the history and regulatory framework of transportation planning in the U.S. The course employs transportation modeling software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Prerequisite(s): URP 332/332L , or another quantitative methods course (URP 488/488L ), or permission of instructor.
Component(s): 3 lectures, 1 three-hour laboratory.
