URP 490S/490LS - Advanced Applications in GIS (3/1)


Advanced application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to solving urban and regional problems in a studio format. Students work on real-world projects that integrate use of raster based spatial analysis, network analysis, data modeling, and graphic presentation. Emphasis is placed on scenario development and 3-dimensional visualization techniques.

Prerequisite(s): URP 486/486L , or introductory sequence of GIS Minor, or permission of instructor.
Component(s): 3 lectures, 1 three-hour laboratory.
