ARC 460 - Architecture and Historic Preservation (4) Survey of the relationship between new design and the preservation of historic buildings, structures and landscapes, from antiquity to the present. Among the issues to be discussed are the theories and practices associated with the historic preservation movement, the impact that historical values, aesthetics, culture, politics, and economic factors have in the preservation process.
Prerequisite(s): Upper division standing. Component(s): 2 two-hour lectures.
